Today, Signify, one of the world leaders in lighting, announced that they are piloting LiFi with over 30 customers in Europe, North America and Asia.

Signify is a Netherlands-based lighting company with a wide range of products and services. Their LiFi-enabled LED fixtures combine great light quality with a fast broadband data connection using light waves. LiFi technology has a lot of benefits, such as increased internet speed and stability and increased security. LiFi is regarded as an alternative or complementary technology to WiFi. This relatively new technology can offer at least 1000 times the spectrum of WiFi.

Customers that Signify is currently trialing LiFi with include telecom company Orange managed offices provider Incubex and IT infrastructure company Atea.
