LiFi Research (R&D) & Evaluation Kits
Looking for a LiFi research kit, R&D setup, or evaluation system?
We provide practical LiFi systems that can be used for testing, validation, and applied research. Not a lab prototype. A working setup that behaves like a real network and can be used in experiments, pilots, or early-stage deployments.
If you already have a project in mind, you can share your requirements and we’ll propose a setup that fits.
Built for research and real environments
Most “LiFi kits” on the market are either:
- overly simplified demos, or
- academic setups that don’t translate well to real deployments
Our approach is different.
These kits are based on commercial LiFi systems, which means:
- realistic performance
- stable operation
- usable in both research and production environments
This makes them suitable for:
- universities and research institutions
- innovation teams
- technical validation projects
- product development and integration testing
What’s included in a LiFi R&D kit
A typical setup consists of:
- LiFi access point (ceiling-mounted)
- USB dongles for laptops
- Transceivers for fixed devices
- Mounting and power components
This allows you to create a controlled optical wireless environment where you can:
- measure performance
- test mobility and handover
- evaluate interference-free communication
- explore integration into existing networks
Each setup is tailored. There is no fixed “one size fits all” kit.
What you can test and validate
A LiFi evaluation kit gives you a realistic environment to explore:
Performance
- Throughput under different conditions
- Latency and stability
- Multi-user behavior
Physical characteristics
- Line-of-sight dependency
- Coverage within a room
- Signal containment (no wall penetration)
Use case validation
- Secure communication environments
- RF-restricted areas
- High-density indoor setups
If you’re unsure whether LiFi fits your research, we can assess that quickly based on your use case.
Important boundaries
LiFi is often misunderstood, so it’s worth being clear.
These kits are designed for:
- indoor environments
- room-level or controlled coverage
- short-range, high-quality links
They are not suitable for:
- outdoor long-distance communication
- building-to-building links
- backhaul or wide-area coverage
If your research touches those areas, a different optical or wireless approach may be more appropriate.
From evaluation to deployment
Many projects follow a similar path:
- Start with a small evaluation setup
- Validate performance and constraints
- Expand into multi-access point environments
- Integrate into a broader system
Because the hardware is commercially deployed, there’s no gap between testing and real-world use.

Recommended platform: Trulifi 6002
For most research and evaluation projects, we work with the Trulifi 6002 LiFi System.
It’s a mature, infrared-based LiFi system used in real deployments.
Why it’s suitable for R&D and evaluation:
- stable and predictable performance
- supports multiple users
- easy to deploy in controlled environments
- compatible with both testing and operational use
How we approach LiFi evaluation kits
We don’t ship generic boxes.
Instead, we define a setup based on:
- your research objective
- environment (room size, layout)
- number and type of devices
- whether this is testing or pre-deployment
That way, you get something usable from day one.
If you want, you can request a quote with your requirements, and we’ll outline a suitable configuration.
Get started
If you’re working on a LiFi-related project, the next step is simple.
Send us:
- a short description of your research or use case
- the environment you’re working in
- how many devices you want to connect
We’ll come back with a concrete setup and next steps.
You can also request a quote with your requirements, and we’ll translate that directly into a proposed LiFi evaluation kit.
Connectivity That Actually Delivers
Smarter systems. Faster speeds. Fewer compromises. If you're ready to move beyond outdated networks, you're in the right place.
